You are Amazing…Just Ask God

You Are Amazing

I saw this pin and started to pin it. In the core of my being, the thought was “how self-centered?” I responded to this thought immediately rather than let it go. “Why would you think that?” Some might say. Others may agree that it is self-centered, even a little egotistical. That is what I thought. Self-centered, egotistical. Not God at all. However, let’s visit the truth here. The truth of God’s Word.

Psalm 139:13-18New Living Translation (NLT)

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

17 How precious are your thoughts about me,[a] O God.
They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me!

You Are AmazingYou are Amazing2I revisit the pin again and a smile comes to my face. Why? Because I am amazing to God. In His eyes, He loves me. I accept that and I believe that. He created me to worship, praise and glorify Him. I couldn’t begin to do without Him. No matter what we have experienced in this life, this is the bottom line. He created you for Him and there is no way that you are less than amazing because He created you. Of course, the natural thought process is to define amazing by the world’s standard. How about defining ourselves by God’s standard?

Believe-the-WordI have to share that the reason the first thought occurred to me is because that is what I was used to doing, thinking the negative thought immediately. This writing journey really causes one to stop and take a pause about our thought process, the words used to describe ourselves and how we speak to others. I was speaking to myself in a negative way. The good that came out of that is I stopped immediately when I recognized the negativity. The practice of reading the Word daily and believing it let me see the negative. Perfect practice equals perfect. In walking with the Lord, trusting Him to reveal the truth, even the seemingly insignificant intricate details of our nature is valuable. In order to fulfill His purpose for our lives, we need to know the details. He gives us those details at the perfect time and in the perfect moment so that it will resonate within us, become a part of who we are.

The work in progress to change my perspective to God’s for my life is manifesting. It seems so small, but it is a major revelation. I get to share with others the awesomeness of my God. One of my favorite sayings is that God is in the details. Today’s insight is valuable detail.

    1. Yes, I understand. I have come a long way in learning to love myself and appreciate that I was created by God for His purpose and glory. We are so engrained to think the way world thinks about things, that we have to retrain our minds to think the way God thinks about things. I had to understand that this is not about ego but value. We are so into preaching self-esteem to our younger generation without giving them the foundation for such. No matter what, self-esteem is very shallow without a value of worth, based on God’s Word and not the world’s definition.

  3. You are amazing and I love that you spread the amazing word of God. It always amazes me when I read a verse and come back to it and it speaks differently to me the next time I read it. It truly is the Living Word of God! God comes to us in our time of need and gives us His word to give us our spiritual armor, our spiritual drink and lifts us up in the midst of our trial and shows us his amazing love. Truly, truly I say to you…amazing! Thank you for your great insight and sharing the Word! Love and hugs!
